Is it summer yet?

I saw the first mosquitoes of the year this week. Yeah, they were big and biting. They are the price you pay for ending the drought. So now I am thinking about summer with bbq and friends and family. Doesn't this photo just make you yearn for the 4th of July? Some time ago I put all my recipes on the computer, but this year I have started adding photos which really makes them wonderful and may help my family when they are picking out which goodie it is they want me to make next. So here is the latest - Cocktail Sausages in Sauce. They are obviously an appetizer, I just couldn't resist putting them on this plate with a couple of bisquits.

The year of big 0 birthdays

This is how I decorated at David's for his 30th Birthday. Had him convinced it wasn't me!

And this is what 40 candles looks like. I did this for Kristy's Birthday. It made quite a glow!

What is it?

I ran across this object at the cottage. Looks like
some sort of gear. Anyone know what it goes to?

And curbs.

Six Swans-a-swimming

I crocheted this swan doily this winter. Thought I would never finish it as I did all six swans separately and then accidently threw them away. I am never very motivated to redo something. It came out nice though and I thought it would fit nicely on this table but I think it is a bit too busy so I have moved it to the top of the television. What will I do if my tv breaks and I have to get one of those flat screen things? So instead I painted a coordinating box to hold the game pieces and set it on the table. I like how this table fits here. Wonder why it took me so long to get around to painting it?

Painted Game Table

Here is the little drop leaf table I have been painting. I decided to add a game board and chess pieces shown here but also checkers. The closeup is of the shelf underneath the tabletop. I am surprised the dog hasn't knocked this over yet!

Easter egg dying

This year for Easter I decided to try a new dye for the eggs. I had always used food coloring opting for pastel colors so when I heard about how bright the colors were in Doc Hinkles paint-on dye I decided to go bold. We discovered Nikki was much better at this than I am.
But what fun!
Wondering what the eggs are drying in? It is the insert from the Heart Shaped box of Truffles my thoughtful son brought me for Valentine's day. Worked perfectly as the box the dye comes in only has holes to hold four eggs at a time and you know we boiled a lot more than that as Mike is quite fond of deviled eggs.

The Bachelors

There seems to be other places that have photos from the benefit so this one of the bachelors for the auction is the only one I am posting. I would like to thank these great guys as well as everyone who helped and everyone who donated and everyone who supported the benefit.

The benefit for Summer

The only thing missing was our friend Summer. Photos coming soon.
