A Fan for August

My daughter is thinking of having some friends over one evening and we have been crafting for that.  One of the projects that I took on was fans.  Now the original pattern I could not get to work with the supplies I had so I came up with one of these old style fans.
It was easiest to make the front and back the same but in the middle of one I ran out of adhesive in the Xyron and since I did not have any paper to spare with that pattern I used another for the back of one.

It would be easy to add a sticker to personalize it for particular events.
In fact when my future daughter-in-law spotted these in progress
she made the same connection and went home and whipped up a box full,
to be used somehow for the wedding.

The wedding will be in March so they have to be for decoration not to keep cool.

At any rate a quick and easy and fun little project.

Wow, these are so cool. I love them. What kind of paper did you use? You also used an adhesive to adhere front and back, right? We get something like this, only one sided at Festivals at our park and usually use them to keep us cool. They are for advertising but the same idea. Nice to have something fun for many events. You are amazing.

This is the cardstock weight scrapbooking paper that is 12" square and comes in tablets. I liked making it double sided as it was sturdier. I ran it through the Xyron machine with an adhesive cartidge (sticker machine) but I guess any good adhesive would work. They come out 6" square and then I used scissors to round off the corners.

I remember stores advertising on these though they were one sided like you described.

Wow, finally made it back to your blog to see what you wrote. Love this idea and wish I had a Xyron machine but since I do not, will have to look for something else to use if I make these.
